Billing usage for SaaS deployments

Billing usage in Splunk Agent Observability is measured with the following dimensions:
  • Spans: The number of agentic spans ingested and analyzed. A span represents a single operation, and related spans make up a trace. SaaS system limits include a maximum number of agentic spans per minute.
  • Luna tokens: The count of tokens used for Luna evaluation requests. The exact Luna billing calculation is determined by your subscription agreement.

System limits for SaaS deployments

SaaS deployments have the following system limits that help ensure high performance, stability, and reliability. System limits scale with the number of SKU units purchased. For more information, contact your Splunk account team.
