Feature differences by deployment option

Splunk Agent Observability is offered as an on-premises deployment or as a software-as-a-service (SaaS) deployment integrated with Splunk Observability Cloud. Both deployment options provide the same features, with the following exceptions: Additional considerations for SaaS deployments:
  • Splunk Agent Observability results don’t appear in Splunk Observability Cloud global search.
  • Trace inputs and outputs are visible on Splunk Agent Observability pages, but are not visible on Splunk Application Performance Monitoring (APM) pages.

From the Splunk Observability Cloud main menu, select Agent Observability to access the product. SaaS Sample Projects If you’re not able to access the sample projects, you may need to be assigned an agent_observability user role. See Assign roles to users.
